Learn to Fix Your Credit in One Year.

The First step is to get your credit report to really get a feel of what's on your record that you need to pay off.

Send a letter to all three reporting agencies in the US, Equifax, TransUnion, and Experian; two reporting agencies in Canada, Equifax, and TransUnion requesting your free annual credit.

In few weeks you will be amazed to see so many debts that you won't even know anything about.

Go online to research how to get mistakes corrected on your credit report.

There are thousands of sites with books and credit repair companies that can help you sought things out.

Dispute everything that's negative, wrong and / or hurting your credit score.

Credit reporting agencies must investigate the validity of any account on your credit file that you dispute. They have 30 days to do so, and if they find any discrepancies or errors, by law they must delete it from your file.

These are the Things You Need to Do:

Step 1. Get your credit reports. You can go directly to each company, or use a service like, if you use them, make sure you cancel with the allotted amount of time or they will charge you.

The other 3 companies you can get a 3 in one, which is all 3 in one site for usually around $40. I recommend that is faster and easier.

Step 2. When reviewing your credit report, get a pen and paper, and write down everything that is negative for each report: name of creditor and account number is all you need to write down.

Step 3. Type up a letter addressed to each credit reporting agency, titled, "Request to investigate inaccurate information found on my credit file. Below that, type in each negative account name and account number along with reason for disputing. Put it in an envelope and mail it to them.

There are many reasons for disputing. You can dispute for incorrect account number, incorrect balance, statute of limitations has expired etc.

You can say something like, "I do not believe that this account belongs to me." By saying this, the credit reporting agencies have to confirm and prove that this debt is valid and belongs to you. If they can't do so withing 30 days, by law they have to delete it from your credit file.

Send them 3 dispute letters, and in about 45 days, you will start receiving replies. You will be surprised to see how fast many of your disputed item are deleted from your file.

Keep disputing until everything gets deleted. Keep mailing letters out to credit reporting agencies every week for a period of 6 months until you are satisfied.

Next, you can start rebuilding your credit by getting a few secured credit cards with your local banks, or few small loans. Use them to by necessary things that you know you can pay off within the billing cycle of the month. These will give you some credit history and allow you to build your credit score.

Anyone can fix his or her credit, you just need to have a little patience and focus on achieving this goal.
